Image of the Year Festival opens

The 14th edition of Iran’s Image of the Year Festival has begun.

The festival was launched at Iranian Artists Forum on Saturday February 19, 2017.

The opening ceremony paid homage to the late Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami.

The festival which takes place at the final days of the Iranian year showcases images of the most important event of the year.

There is a section in the festival that is dedicated to the late Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani and another section dedicated to the firefighters killed in Tehran’s Plasco Building incident.

The annual exhibition has been divided into the two sections of non-competition and main competition for the youth under 25.

The closing ceremony is scheduled to be held on March 10, 2017.
